Scenes from my past lives, part one

Some scenes from my past life as a software consultant. While they did not all happen in one place, and while some of it is a LITTLE exaggerated, I swear most of it is true! Or true enough. :)

geez... what's the company!?? I can't *wait* to become a software consultant there :)

Yeah I recall an old college friend that worked for a company that sounded like that. They didn't know anything about the systems, and all projects were for a week only - you just had to do whatever it takes. The pay he said was freaking insanely high, but if I recall correctly, he only lasted about 6 mos.

I had a few yrs back and forth doing contracting, but nothing like what you describe. Man - I thought it sucked a little bit, but compared to this, apparently it was HEAVEN!

Chris,

It was a software company that luckily is now defunct. But the practices aren't that uncommon (if somewhat exaggerated :o).

What's interesting now is being on the other side of the table, and sometimes thinking, "I'm that customer."
