It's a major award! part 2

Recently I've been writing about Systemantics and what an impact it's had on my thinking and my career. I just received the 3rd edition, now called The Systems Bible. Since I am slowly working toward cleaning out my bookshelves as part of Throw Out Fifty Things, I've decided I don't need two copies.

So, as an experiment in social networking, I am giving away my older copy of Systemantics. Don't worry, it is still full of "chewy goodness," even if there is now a third edition. The book is in good shape, other than having my last name on the cover and sides (a practice I used to commonly perform in order to "amputate a book's legs" and keep them from walking away from my desk at work). To be eligible, you must:
  • Read my blog in order to have seen this post (intuitively self-obvious).
  • Be a book reader and not just a hoarder.
  • Have not already read it (honor system here).
  • Commit to reading it (again, honor system).
  • Be a resident of the United States (because I'm cheap and won't pay for shipping anywhere else).
  • Tell me why you want it via a comment here, email, or direct message on LinkedIn, Twitter or Facebook.
A bonus will be if you follow up with a blog post or email and let me know what you thought.

I will pick a winner based totally on how much you convince me you want to read it and give it a good home.

No guarantees of objectivity or randomness express or implied. Void where prohibited. Three strikes and you're out. Don't bet on a dead horse.

No deadline on getting it read? I'll commit. :)

We can arrange a hand-off since you work on the other side of the exit. :)

Full disclosure: I had never heard of this book but Wickipedia defines "systemantics" as a play on words on semantics, systematics and systems display antics. That, and the dirty martini with three olives I am having right now at a hotel bar in Columbus, Ohio tell me this might be a book worth owning.

Got me interested and I would definitely read it but I'll wait til I find it somewhere obscure... I'm in no rush but feel like I might find it at Goodwill or a yard sale someday :)

Shame there isn't more people though that share their books like this... awesome to hear Jim. I've got quite a few from a great friend that way, and have passed on quite a few of those same to people I've met too.
